Pakistan women’s team spinner Rameen Shamim spoke openly during a press conference following a rain-affected match in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2025, sharing her thoughts on recent performances and the upcoming challenge against a strong South African side.
Reflecting on the abandoned fixture, Rameen expressed disappointment over the missed opportunity. “Yeah, obviously, rain is not in our control — we cannot control the weather,” she said. “Unfortunately, we’re upset because we were up to the mark against England.”
Looking ahead to their next match, Rameen praised South Africa’s consistent form in the tournament. “South Africa is playing good cricket and they’ll come hard against us. Their captain, Laura Wolvaardt, is in great form, and The Clerk has played two back-to-back match-winning innings — against India and, I think, Bangladesh.”
Most notably, Rameen admitted to Pakistan’s ongoing issues with the bat — a concern as they prepare for the must-win clash. “We are aware that our batting is not clicking,” she stated honestly. “We’ve made mistakes in the batting order and in our shot selection. We need to take better decisions under pressure.”
