Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has emphasized to ensure sustainable fertilizer availability for farmers at affordable costs.
Chairing a meeting of the Committee to deliberate upon gas supply to the fertilizer sector in Islamabad today, he also stressed for strengthening the supply chain, stabilizing prices, and supporting crop growth and national food security.
The committee discussed continuity of existing gas supplies and securitization of future gas for long-term urea production. Recommendations of the committee will be submitted to the Prime Minister.
