Pakistan Under-19 batter Usman Khan, who played a key role in his team’s victory against Scotland, said patience and partnership were central to Pakistan’s successful chase in the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup.
Usman Khan explained that after Pakistan lost two early wickets, the focus shifted to rebuilding the innings alongside Ahmed Hussain. He said both batters agreed to wait for loose deliveries and avoid unnecessary dot balls, despite facing disciplined bowling from the Scottish attack.
He added that once they got settled at the crease, the batting became easier and the pair concentrated on forming a solid partnership, which helped stabilize the innings. Usman Khan emphasized that regardless of pitch conditions, partnerships play a vital role in easing pressure on the batting side.
Calling the match an important one for the team, Usman Khan expressed hope that Pakistan would carry forward the same level of performance into their next fixture.
