Quetta Gladiators Beat Hyderabad Kingsmen by 40 Runs in PSL 11 Clash

In the fifth match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11, Quetta Gladiators secured a convincing 40-run victory over Hyderabad Kingsmen at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

Chasing a target of 175 runs, Hyderabad Kingsmen were bowled out for 134 runs. Irfan Khan top-scored with 33 runs, while Hassan Khan added 31 and captain Marnus Labuschagne contributed 23. Wicketkeeper-batter Usman Khan managed 14 runs, whereas Saim Ayub (8), Saad Ali (7), and Hammad Azam (6) failed to make significant contributions. Moez Sadaqat was dismissed for a duck, while Maheesh Theekshana (2*) and Riley Meredith (3*) remained not out.

For Quetta Gladiators, Abrar Ahmed led the bowling attack with three wickets. Ahmed Daniyal picked up two wickets, while Alzarri Joseph, Usman Tariq, and captain Saud Shakeel claimed one wicket each.

Earlier, after winning the toss, Quetta Gladiators opted to bat first and posted 174 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their 20 overs. Shamyl Hussain was the standout performer with 54 runs, followed by Hasan Nawaz who scored 53, and Tom Curran who contributed 31 runs.

The rest of the batting lineup struggled, with Khawaja Nafay scoring 6 and captain Saud Shakeel managing only 4 runs. Rilee Rossouw, Ben Dermott, and Alzarri Joseph were dismissed without scoring. Abrar Ahmed (9*) and Ahmed Daniyal (6*) remained unbeaten at the end.

For Hyderabad Kingsmen, Riley Meredith was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets, while Maheesh Theekshana and Akif Javed claimed two wickets each.

Quetta Gladiators’ all-round performance ensured a comfortable win, strengthening their position early in the tournament.
