A review meeting regarding the arrangements made for Muharram-ul-Haram was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Jauharabad under the chairmanship of Commissioner Sargodha Division, Hafiz Shaukat Ali, and the Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sargodha. Representatives of all relevant departments briefed the participants on the measures taken to ensure smooth and secure observance of Muharram.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Khushab Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Labar, DPO Khushab Dr. Ammara Shirazi, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Khushab Ghazala Kanwal, Assistant Commissioner Khushab Chaudhry Ziaullah, MD WASA Imran Ali Bajwa, Highway Department Sub-Engineer Gul Hassan, and officials from WAPDA, the Health Department, Rescue 1122, and other concerned departments. Assistant Commissioners of Nowshera, Noorpur Thal, and Quaidabad joined the meeting via video link and briefed participants on Muharram processions, religious gatherings, and administrative preparations in their respective tehsils.

Officials informed the meeting about arrangements related to drainage and water supply, sanitation under the Suthra Punjab Program, removal of encroachments, installation of cold drinking water stalls, stray dog control, repair of damaged roads, establishment of medical camps, provision of medicines, uninterrupted electricity supply, and other departmental responsibilities during Muharram.

Addressing the meeting, Commissioner Hafiz Shaukat Ali directed WAPDA to ensure an uninterrupted power supply and immediately cover all exposed and hanging electrical wires. He instructed WASA to maintain proper drainage and water supply services and ensure cleanliness under the Suthra Punjab Program. The Highway Department was directed to repair damaged roads without delay, while the Health Department was instructed to establish medical camps and ensure the availability of essential medicines.

The Commissioner further directed Rescue 1122 to remain fully prepared for emergency response. He also instructed the Chief Officers of Municipal Committees and District Councils to ensure the provision of street lighting, drinking water stalls, temporary washrooms, and other public facilities along procession routes, while removing all obstacles and encroachments.

He emphasized that Rescue 1122, WASA, Municipal Committees, the Suthra Punjab Program, and all other concerned departments must maintain close coordination and perform their duties efficiently to ensure peaceful, safe, and well-organized observance of Muharram-ul-Haram across the district.
