Students of Government Girls High School, Block Nos. 26 and 27, Sargodha, participated in the popular informative programme “Shaheen Sargodha” of Radio Pakistan Sargodha. The programme was hosted by senior anchorperson Sabtain Baloch, while Ms. Razia Mir Zaman represented the school and gave a detailed account of the institution’s history, educational activities, available facilities, outstanding examination results and co-curricular programmes.

Ms. Razia Mir Zaman said that Government Girls High School, Block Nos. 26 and 27, was established as a school in 1960 and was upgraded to high-school status in 1975. Spread over approximately 38.5 kanals, the institution provides students with a conducive educational environment as well as spacious and suitable playground facilities.

She said that keeping in view the modern educational requirements of students, the school has facilities including science and computer laboratories, which are playing an important role in making the teaching process more effective and providing students with opportunities for practical learning.

She added that the annual examination results of Classes 9 and 10 had consistently remained impressive, with students securing outstanding marks in board examinations and bringing pride to their institution and parents.

The programme also highlighted the importance given to co-curricular activities at the school alongside academic education. Such activities, she said, help polish students’ abilities, enhance their confidence and prepare them for practical life.

The participating students, all from Class 10, included Musaffara Arif, Aroob Amina, Tooba Shehzad, Sundas Javeria, Ayesha and Amina Zulfiqar. During the programme, the students presented recitation from the Holy Quran and Naat-e-Rasool Maqbool (PBUH). They also shared their educational experiences, favourite subjects, personal interests and aspirations regarding their future careers.

The students expressed happiness over visiting Radio Pakistan Sargodha and getting an opportunity to participate in the programme. They said that such opportunities play an important role in enhancing their confidence, communication skills and understanding of practical life.

On the occasion, Station Director Radio Pakistan Sargodha Fariha Kanwal appreciated the students’ participation and abilities, saying that students from educational institutions should be provided with more opportunities to visit the national broadcasting institution and demonstrate their talents.

During the programme, the students were also introduced to the working environment of the national broadcaster, radio programming and the practical requirements of effective communication. At the conclusion, certificates of appreciation were distributed among the students, who described the experience as a memorable and beneficial part of their educational journey.

Ms. Razia Mir Zaman thanked Radio Pakistan Sargodha for providing the students with such a valuable opportunity. She said that educational, informative and training-oriented programmes of this nature are highly beneficial for students and expressed hope that Radio Pakistan Sargodha would continue such programmes for educational institutions and students in the future.
