Pakistan and Ghana have reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and agreed to enhance cooperation across a broad range of areas.
The understanding to this effect was reached during the First Bilateral Political Consultations between the two countries held in Ghana.
The Bilateral Political Consultations between Pakistan and Ghana marked an important milestone in the development of bilateral relations between the two countries.
Pakistani delegation was led by Additional Foreign Secretary, Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan, while the Ghanaian side was headed by Chief Director, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Khadija Iddrisu.
During the consultations, two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed. First MoU was on Bilateral Political Consultations and the other MoU was between the Foreign Service Academy, Islamabad, and the Ghana Foreign Service Institute.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and agreed to enhance cooperation across a broad range of areas, including political, economic, defence, tourism, cultural, health, education, information technology and other mutually beneficial sectors.
The two sides also agreed to hold the next round of the Bilateral Political Consultations in Islamabad next year.
Pakistan and Ghana have friendly, cooperative ties, spanning many decades. The institutional dialogue process will further strengthen their bilateral relations through more meaningful and project specific cooperation.
