Anti-Polio Campaign Launched in Khushab; Over 238,000 Children to Be Vaccinated

Deputy Commissioner Khushab, Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Labar, formally inaugurated the anti-polio campaign at DHQ Hospital Joharabad by administering polio drops to a child under five years of age. The campaign will continue from April 13 to April 16, 2026.

On this occasion, Medical Superintendent DHQ Hospital Joharabad, Dr. Ahmed Khan, along with health department officials, doctors, and nursing staff, was present. According to officials, more than 238,000 children across District Khushab will be administered polio drops during the April 2026 campaign. Staff have been deployed in all 51 union councils of the district, and their training has been completed in accordance with the schedule of the Punjab Emergency Operations Center.

The District Health Management Team is continuously monitoring all campaign activities. The Deputy Commissioner directed health teams to remain active and ensure door-to-door vaccination of children up to five years of age in all four tehsils, including hospitals, basic health units, urban areas, rural localities, and schools, to achieve 100 percent coverage.

He emphasized that no child should be left unvaccinated so that the country can be completely freed from the menace of polio.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited various departments of DHQ Hospital Joharabad, including the emergency ward, gynecology ward, male and female wards, dialysis center, and trauma center. He inquired about the well-being of patients and reviewed the medical facilities being provided.

He stated that the benefits of the health card facility introduced by the Chief Minister of Punjab should reach the common people. He directed hospital authorities to ensure maximum facilities for patients, provision of free medicines, and strict cleanliness, adding that no complaints should arise in the future and that the vision of the Chief Minister must be fully implemented.
