
Chief Secretary Punjab, Zahid Akhtar Zaman, paid a special visit to Sargodha where he reviewed the pace of work on ongoing development projects.
A high-level meeting was held under his chairmanship in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office. The meeting was attended by Commissioner Sargodha Division Hafiz Shaukat Ali, RPO Shahzad Asif Khan, Deputy Commissioner Sargodha Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry, Deputy Commissioners of Khushab and Bhakkar, MD WASA, MD Saaf Punjab Authority, SEs of Highways and Buildings, CEO Cantonment Board, and other concerned officials.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Secretary said that the pace of development work in Sargodha Division is encouraging. He directed that all ongoing projects should be completed on time and that the standard of public service delivery should be further improved.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner Sargodha gave a detailed briefing on the development programs underway in the district. He informed participants about progress on the Punjab Development Program, City Development Package, Local Government schemes, and road and non-road projects. Additionally, details of the proposed Sargodha City Package for the upcoming fiscal year were also presented.
The MD WASA briefed the meeting on the mega project aimed at resolving the sewerage issues of Sargodha city under the vision of the Chief Minister Punjab. He stated that work on Phase I and Phase II is progressing rapidly, and the construction of water storage tanks is also part of the project.
The Deputy Commissioner Sargodha proposed in the meeting that tehsils Sillanwali, Bhera, Bhalwal, and Sahiwal, along with Kot Momin and Shahpur, should also be included in the Punjab Development Program.
The Deputy Commissioner Khushab also briefed the meeting on ongoing development schemes in the district, city beautification projects, and future planning.
Later, the Chief Secretary visited City Road and Kutchery Bazaar to inspect the ongoing beautification projects and reviewed the work on-site.
