A graceful literary and condolence reference in memory of renowned poetess Samina Syed was organized under the supervision of noted writer Shazia Mufti. The event was presided over by distinguished personality Najeeb Jamal, while the guests of honor included famous fiction writer Neelam Ahmed Bashir, Samina Syed’s daughter Shawal Raza, son Sarim Raza, sister Nosheen Naqvi, and other close family members. Samina Syed’s mother also attended the ceremony.
The proceedings were conducted by Shazia Mufti. During the event, friends, admirers, and literary personalities paid heartfelt tribute to Samina Syed’s poetry, personality, and literary contributions. Participants recalled memorable moments spent with her, creating an emotional atmosphere throughout the gathering. Many attendees became tearful while remembering her, though smiles also appeared as pleasant memories were shared.
Among those present were Shaheen Ashraf Ali, Samina Hassan, Rabia Rehman, Khalida Anwar, Fatima Sherwani, Shehnaz Naqvi, Ashfaq Warak, Irfan Sadiq, and several others.
Addressing the gathering, President of the ceremony Najeeb Jamal paid glowing tribute to Samina Syed and praised her literary services. Her daughter, Shawal Raza, emotionally recalled memories of her beloved mother and said that she was very close to her and was always the first person to listen to her poetry and short stories. Nosheen Naqvi also shared cherished memories associated with Samina Syed, while her brother-in-law paid tribute to her remarkable personality and literary work.
At the conclusion of the program, singers performed Samina Syed’s ghazals, creating a captivating atmosphere. In particular, the ghazal sung by Neelam Ahmed Bashir received great appreciation from the audience. The organizers, including Ahmed Sohail, Nasrullah, and Shazia Mufti, were highly praised for arranging such an impressive and memorable event.
