In Iran, at least seventy-three people were killed and dozens others injured in two explosions in the southeastern city of Kerman today.

According to Iranian state television, the explosion occured near a cemetery where a ceremony was being held to mark the death of the country’s top commander Qassem Soleimani in a US drone attack in 2020.

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has strongly condemned the reprehensible terrorist attacks that resulted in a significant loss of lives in Kerman city of Iran.

In a post on social media platform X tonight [Wednesday], he expressed solidarity with the Iranian Government and its people.

The Prime Minister said our thoughts and prayers are with the Iranian Government and people at this difficult time.
