The two-day 14th Pak Pharma and Healthcare Expo began today at the Pak-China Friendship Centre. An international conference on “Pharma Export Way Forward – Opportunities and Challenges” was also organized.
The two-day Pak Pharma and Healthcare Exhibition and Conference organized by Prime Event Management was inaugurated by thr Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal inaugurated while the Chief Executive Officer, Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan Asim Rauf inaugurated the exhibition.
On this occasion, the organizing director Prime Event Kamran Abbasi said that 50 exhibitors are participating in the exhibition, including foreign companies from China, Taiwan, Turkey, Germany.
Other guests at the inauguration ceremony included Syed Farooq Bukhari – Chairman Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PPMA) and Chief Executive Mediflo Pharmaceuticals, Arshad Mehmood – Chairman PPMA North and Qaiser Waheed – President MediSaver Lab Pakistan and former Chairman. PPMA was included while Session Speakers include Hamid Raza – CEO Nutro Pharma and former Chairman PPMA, Arshad Mehmood, Usman Shaukat – Director Bio Labs, Mr. M. Amanullah Shaikh – CEO Davis Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Faisal Q. Khokhar – Executive Director Remington Pharmaceuticals. Industries and Dr. Uzair Nagra – CEO MediSearch Pharma.
Kamran Abbasi further said that the exhibition includes manufacturers of pharmaceutical equipment, chemicals, laboratory equipment, packaging materials, analytical equipment, environmental control, pharmaceutical consultants, hospital and health equipment, ambulance and rescue vehicle manufacturers, surgical equipment, fire alarm and Instruments, Hospital Consumables and other accessories.
Addressing the conference, Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal said that a successful system has the ability to use and benefit from knowledge, global competition is taking place on the basis of economy.
He said that to secure the future of Pakistan, there has to be rapid development in the economic field. He mentioned that peace, stability and continuity of policies are the guarantors of the country’s development.
Ahsan Iqbal said that we have to give the foundation of sustainable development to the future generation. The youth will have to be a part of the Pakistan Banao movement for the reconstruction of Pakistan.
He said that it is the Prime Minister’s wish to remove obstacles from the way of the private sector. There are immense export opportunities in the Middle East regarding Halal food. He said that we had installed 11000 megawatt power projects in our previous tenure.
He added that the incumbent government has created Vision 2025 to include Pakistan in the list of top 25 economically strong countries. Ahsan Iqbal said that now they are struggling to restore the journey of development of Pakistan.
CEO Drap Asim Rauf said that the government is trying to solve the problems of the pharmaceutical industry, but there will be no compromise on the quality of medicines.
