In China, at least 111 people were killed and more than 230 injured following a strong earthquake of 6.2 magnitude at midnight on Tuesday.
According to China Earthquake Networks Center, the quake struck Jishishan county in Gansu province. Rescue and relief efforts are under way in the affected area.
