Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal says China-Pakistan Economic Corridor projects in 2013 had put our economy on the sustainable growth and development trajectory.

In an interview, he said when China decided to invest 25 billion dollars in Pakistan; we had 18 hours of power shortages and frequent suicide bombings at that time.

The Minister said China decided to come to Pakistan and support Pakistan in difficult time.

He said recent bullish performance of the country’s stock exchange shows that the local investors have full confidence in the direction the government is following.

Regarding the security of the Chinese nationals, the minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment for ensuring security of Chinese nationals and said that a special security unit as well as local law enforcement are tasked with ensuring their safety.
