Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf has announced to commemorate the year 1447 Hijri as the 1500th blessed birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Sallallho Alaihe Wassallam).

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Monday, he said Ashra Rehmatu-lil-Alamin will be observed from the 1st to the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal.

The Minister highlighted that the 50th edition of the International Seerat-un-Nabi Conference will serve as the centerpiece of the celebrations. He noted that prominent government officials, esteemed Ulema, diplomats, and delegates from both within and outside Pakistan will participate in the event. He said alongside the international conference in Islamabad, a national “Qur’an and Seerat Exhibition” will be held, showcasing manuscripts, publications, and digital content related to the Qur’an and Seerat. He added that on the night of 11th Rabi-ul-Awwal, a national Naat competition will be organized and winners of the 2025 national Seerat books, Naat, and essay contests will be awarded prizes.

The Minister further announced that the theme for this year’s celebrations will be: “State Responsibilities in Educating and Training for the Beneficial Use of Social Media, in the Light of the Life of the Holy Prophet (Sallallho Alaihe Wassallam).”

He said provincial governments, including Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, have been requested to organize Seerat-un-Nabi related events in their respective regions. He said these events will include provincial-level Seerat conferences, Naat gatherings, seminars, competitions, and special programs for students and youth.

Sardar Muhammad Yousaf said schools, colleges, and universities will host special events, speech competitions, and awareness programs on the Seerat-un-Nabi to help the younger generation connect with the teachings of the Holy Prophet (Sallallho Alaihe Wassallam) and learn to use modern media, including social platforms, for constructive and positive purposes.
