Price Control Meeting Held in Khushab to Ensure Ramadan Relief

In light of the directives of Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a meeting was held in the conference hall under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Khushab, Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Labar, to ensure strict implementation of price control measures during the holy month of Ramadan and to curb artificial inflation.

The meeting was attended by DO Industry Muhammad Abdullah, Secretary Market Committee Shahbaz Warraich (Jauharabad), officers of various departments, and representatives of the Traders’ Associations of Khushab and Jauharabad.

Addressing the participants, the Deputy Commissioner stated that, keeping in view the verified details at the divisional level and the prevailing situation in markets and grain markets, prices of essential food items should be determined to provide maximum relief to the public during Ramadan. He emphasized that strict implementation of the fixed prices must be ensured so that citizens can benefit during the blessed month.

Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Labar further directed that all aspects related to Ramadan should be closely monitored in accordance with the Chief Minister’s instructions. He clearly informed the presidents of the Traders’ Associations that 100 percent compliance with the directives of the Chief Minister must be ensured. He added that Ramadan is a month of blessings, and quality food items must be provided to fasting individuals at official and lawful prices.

He reiterated that, as in the past, the orders of the Chief Minister would be implemented in letter and spirit during Ramadan. Price Magistrates will remain fully active and empowered to take action. Profiteering will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The Deputy Commissioner also warned that strict action would be taken against anyone interfering in official duties of price control officers and staff, including the use of threatening language, misbehavior, abusive conduct, blackmailing, challenging the writ of the administration, or attempting to disturb the peaceful environment of the city during Ramadan.

He urged all stakeholders to ensure full compliance with the directives of the district administration and the Government of Punjab. On this occasion, the representatives of the Traders’ Associations assured their full cooperation.
