The Federal Cabinet has accorded approval to policies regarding different departments.
The approval was given at Federal Cabinet meeting, which met in Islamabad today with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in the chair. The Federal Cabinet approved various policies including the production of vaccines at the national level, the first ever National Agriculture Biotechnology Policy, National Seed Policy, and National Skills Development Policy. The Federal Cabinet approved the policy for the production of vaccines at the national level. In this context, the formation of a special committee under the supervision of DRAP to determine prices and ensure quality was also approved. The policy aims to reduce dependence on imports for vaccines, save valuable foreign exchange and make the country self-sufficient in vaccine production.
The cabinet approved the appointment of teachers from grades 1 to 15 on daily wages in the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) as visiting faculty under the FDE (Visiting Faculty) Regulations 2025, according to their qualification level and in light of the Supreme Court’s decision.
The federal cabinet also approved the National Skills Development Policy. Under the policy, practical steps will be taken to align the capabilities of the workforce with the needs of the country’s industry and trade and the demands of the modern era. In addition, special measures for international standard training and certification for Pakistanis going abroad are also part of the policy. The federation and all provinces will work in cooperation in this context. The private sector will also be an important part of the implementation of this policy
The country’s first National Agriculture Biotechnology Policy was also approved in the meeting. The aim of this policy is to ensure national food security, significant increase in agricultural production and ensuring research and development and effective strategies in the agricultural sector.
The meeting also approved in principle the National Seed Policy 2025. The policy aims to ensure food security and empower farmers. Under the policy, steps will be taken to increase agricultural production by 15 to 20 percent and partnership with world-class seed companies.
In addition, the annual report of NEPRA 2025 and the State of Industry Report 2025 were also presented in the Federal Cabinet meeting.
The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over handling of the prevailing situation in the best possible way to facilitate the people despite crisis in the prices of petroleum products at the global level.
He also apprised the cabinet members about Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to reduce the ongoing tension in the Middle East.
