Pakistan’s hockey team secured its second victory in the men’s hockey tournament at the 20th Asian Games, defeating Uzbekistan 5-1 in an impressive performance.
Pakistan took the lead in the 18th minute when Muhammad Imad scored a fine field goal. Uzbekistan equalised in the 30th minute through Salimjonov Shokhrukhbek, who converted a penalty corner to make it 1-1.
Pakistan regained the lead in the 33rd minute when Sufyan Khan converted a penalty corner. Abdul Rehman extended the advantage to 3-1 in the 40th minute with another penalty-corner goal.
In the 45th minute, Abubakar Mahmood successfully converted a penalty stroke to make it 4-1. Sufyan Khan then scored his second goal of the match and Pakistan’s fifth in the 57th minute, converting another penalty corner to complete the 5-1 victory.
Pakistan Hockey Federation President Mohiuddin Ahmed Wani congratulated the national team’s players and officials on the impressive win and expressed hope that the team would maintain the same momentum in the upcoming matches.
