Interior Minister, US delegation discuss security cooperation

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held a meeting with a high-level U.S. delegation led by Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker in Islamabad today.

The meeting featured in-depth deliberation on boosting Pakistan-U.S. relations and expanding cooperation in shared areas of interest.

Interior Minister welcomed U.S. assistance in the reorganization of the Federal Constabulary and in strengthening the capabilities of FIA and NCCIA.

He said that U.S. support in activating FIA’s Counter-Terrorism Wing would prove highly beneficial, making it the first federal anti-terrorist wing with effective coordination with provinces.

Mohsin Naqvi said that the National Cyber Crimes Investigation Agency is carrying out an extensive crackdown on illegal call centers across the country.

Natalie Baker acknowledged the ongoing collaboration between the Ministry of Interior and U.S. agencies at various levels and reaffirmed that efforts would continue to further enhance partnership with Pakistan.
