A meeting to review the wheat procurement target was held in the Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Khushab, Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Labar. The meeting focused on assessing the progress of the wheat procurement campaign and the achievement of the targets set for the year 2026.

During the meeting, District Food Controller Chaudhry Muzammil briefed participants on the wheat procurement campaign and informed them that a target of 80,000 bags of wheat had been set for District Khushab. He added that all necessary arrangements were being made to ensure the smooth transportation and delivery of wheat from across the district to government warehouses.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Labar reviewed the wheat procurement target and assigned important responsibilities to ADC Revenue Abdullah Khan, Assistant Commissioner Khushab Chaudhry Ziaullah, the Para Force In-Charge, and the District Food Controller to ensure the successful achievement of the target. He directed the concerned officers to prevent the smuggling of wheat in accordance with district-level administrative orders and to ensure effective monitoring of the procurement process.
Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner stated that, in compliance with the directives of the Government of Punjab, wheat would be procured during the 2026 season from farmers, grain markets, and other sources at the rate of Rs. 3,500 per maund. He emphasized that every effort should be made to achieve the procurement target in full.

Dr. Labar further instructed all relevant departments to accelerate the procurement campaign and ensure that the target is achieved as soon as possible. He reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment to providing full support and cooperation to all departments involved in the wheat procurement operation.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed that the success of the wheat procurement campaign and the protection of farmers’ interests remain among the administration’s top priorities, and that all available resources would be utilized to achieve the government’s objectives efficiently and transparently.
