Progress continues on M-13 Kharian to Rawalpindi Motorway project under the effective institutional support of the Special Investment Facilitation Council.

According to details, the M-13 Motorway project is being upgraded to one hundred seventeen point two kilometers six -lane Motorway.

The up graded motorway will be a strategic, fast and safe alternative to the existing M-2 Motorway

According to Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, the SIFC also played a major role in the revival of the stalled M-12 Sialkot-Kharian Motorway project. Similarly, M-11 Lahore-Sialkot Motorway is also being expanded from 4 lanes to 6 lanes with the efforts of the Special Investment Facilitation Council.

Upon completion of the M-11, M-12 and M-13 corridors, fifty to sixty  percent  traffic between Lahore and Rawalpindi will be shifted from M-2 to the new route.

This corridor will further strengthen connectivity and enhance trade activities between Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Sialkot, Afghanistan, China and Central Asia.
