Former Australian women’s cricket captain Lisa Sthalkar has been elected the first female president of the Federation of International Cricketers’ Associations, the FICA Executive Committee confirmed at a meeting in Neon, Switzerland.
Former South African batsman Barry Richards, former West Indies captain Jimmy Adams and former England batsman Vikram Solanki have previously served as FICA presidents.
Lisa Sthalkar, 42, has played 187 international matches for Australia. Lisa played a 106-run match-winning innings against New Zealand in the final of the 2010 T20 World Cup. Lisa Sthalkar has also won the Belinda Clarke Award.
In 2007 and 2008, Lisa also received the Australian Women’s Cricketer of the Year award.
