The federal government has declared a four-day public holiday in observance of Eid-ul-Adha, one of the most significant festivals in the Islamic calendar.
According to an official notification issued by the Cabinet Division, the holidays will span from Friday, June 6, to Monday, June 9. The announcement was made by Secretary Cabinet Kamran Ali Afzal.
This year, Eid-ul-Adha in Pakistan will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7, as confirmed by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee. The extended break will allow citizens to partake in religious rituals, family gatherings, and festive celebrations with ease.
Eid-ul-Adha, also known as the “Festival of Sacrifice,” commemorates the devotion of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and is marked by special prayers, animal sacrifices, and acts of charity. The extended holidays are expected to facilitate travel and reunions for families across the country.
The government has urged the public to celebrate responsibly while adhering to safety and health guidelines.
