Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed members of cabinet to continue consultations with allied parties on prevailing political situation. This was stated by Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed while talking to newsmen in Islamabad this afternoon.

He urged the opposition to avoid politics of conflict and work for the betterment of the country.

The Interior Minister said there will be public holidays in the Federal Capital from 21st to 24th of this month due to the session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers.

Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed said Pakistan Day Parade will be a historic event this year due to presence of OIC foreign ministers. He said two thousand personnel of Pakistan Rangers and Frontier Corps will perform duty on this occasion to maintain law and order in the Federal Capital.

Replying to a question about prevailing political situation, the Interior Minister made it clear that there is no room for setting up national government under the constitution.

He said opposition should avoid to push the situation towards confrontation as it can be harmful for the entire political system.

The Minister expressed the hope that allied parties of the ruling party will make their decision in favor of the Prime Minister on the day of ‘No Confidence Motion.’ Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said full security will be provided to the MNAs coming for casting their votes in the National Assembly.

Earlier, addressing the National Police Conference in Islamabad, the Interior Minister said Pakistan police have rendered supreme sacrifices to eliminate terrorism and promote peace in the country.
