Lahore High Court has ordered the holding of election of new Punjab Chief Minister on Saturday.

This was announced by Chief Justice Lahore High Court Muhammad Ameer Bhatti, in his interim order while disposing off petitions filed by Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly, Sardar Dost Muhammad Mazari and Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly, Hamza Shahbaz.

In the order, the Honourable Court ordered all concerned to ensure a free, fair and transparent electoral process and no negligence will be tolerated in this regard.

The Honourable Court restored Deputy Speaker Sardar Dost Muhammad Mazari’s powers, who will conduct the electoral process on Saturday.

The court also ordered to finalize all arrangements in this regard by Friday and completion of all repair work in the Assembly before 1100 Hrs on Election Day.
