Siddique ul Farooq (Leader, PML-N): There is always a solution to every problem and any issue can be resolved peacefully under the ambit of law and constitution. But if someone violates the writ of the state, then the government reserves all the right to take action as per constitution. The president on his behalf held certain meetings with the PTI Chairman but to no avail. Imran Khan has also realized his weakness as the participation of people in his long march is very low. The Prime Minister has written letters to the provincial governments to maintain law and order and open the blocked roads. Otherwise, the federal government has also the authority to impose government rule in the provinces.
Kamran Yousaf (Senior Journalist): The current political situation in the country is very ironic. On the one hand, the PTI claims to take all decisions in the interest of the people. But unfortunately, it has blocked the roads in the name of protests and made the life of local people miserable. We do not know the agenda of PTI. It is astonishing that some provincial ministers from Punjab are also participating in the protests and the Punjab Police is facilitating them. It is the responsibility of the federal government to ensure law and order in the country. We have the judgments of the High Court and Supreme Court on the Faizabad Dharna issue. Peaceful protest is the right of every political party but it should be at a designated place. Federal government is under the obligations of the Supreme Court verdict and is determined to maintain law and order in the federal capital by all means. The main problem is in Punjab where the PTI and its allies are in power. It is the job of Punjab Police to maintain law and order there as well. The federal government may consult the Supreme Court as PTI is openly violating people’s rights and verdicts of the courts.
