Ambassador of Yemen to Pakistan Mohammad Motahar Alashbi has said that Benazir Income Support Programme is a fantastic model of social safety cover for marginalized and vulnerable segments.

He was addressing a wrap-up session with the visiting delegation of Social Welfare Fund of Yemen in Islamabad on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Benazir Income Support programme Amer Ali Ahmed said that such study visits help both sides to share experiences and ideas and learn from each other.

The Sectary informed the delegation 81 billion rupees are being disbursed to 9 million deserving families in a quarterly tranche which is in itself a daunting task.

He said Pakistan and Yemen are two brotherly countries and enjoy close cardial relationship.
