Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb says PEMRA Ordinance 2002 Amendment Bill has been put before the Senate after the National Assembly passed it.
Talking to newsmen outside the Parliament House in Islamabad today, she requested the Chairman Senate to forward the PEMRA Ordinance 2002 Amendment Bill to Standing Committee concerned for further deliberations and recommendations of the Senators.
The Minister said the Bill has been drafted after detailed consultations of over fourteen months and contains opinions and inputs of all media organizations and Parliamentary Reporters Association.
Marriyum Aurangzeb said misinformation and disinformation have been defined and differentiated through new amendments.
