The 554th birth anniversary celebrations of founder of Sikh religion Baba Guru Nanak have begun.

The arrival of Sikh Yatrees in Pakistan through Wagha Border on foot began today.

Sikh Yatrees will take part in the main ceremony in connection with Baba Guru Nanak’s 554th birth anniversary, at Janam Asthan Nankana Sahib on Monday.

Additional Secretary Shrines Rana Shahid Saleem and President of Sikh Parbandhak Committee Sardar Ameer Singh warmly received Yatrees at Wagha Border.

The Government has decided to run special buses for Yatrees from Wagha to Nankana Sahib.

Yatrees will return to India on December 4.

Talking to newsmen, Additional Secretary Shrine Rana Saleem Shahid said government has arranged all facilities for Sikh Yatrees.

President Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Sardar Ameer Singh said Pakistan always welcomed yatrees coming from India with an open heart.
