Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has expressed government’s resolve to protect every child of the country from polio virus.
He was talking to a delegation of Rotary International led by its President Ms. Stephanie A Urchik in Islamabad today.
The Prime Minister commended services of Rotary International in polio eradication, education and other fields.
Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar also appreciated the role of international community and development organizations in eradication of polio from Pakistan.
He said government will provide all possible cooperation to Rotary International and hoped that the organization will increase outreach of its programmes in Pakistan.
Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar also congratulated Stephanie A Urchik for becoming the first female President of the Rotary International.
The Prime Minister was briefed that Rotary Pakistan Smart Village Programme, by taking advantage of innovation and technology, will help improve people’s standard of living.
It was told that Rotary International has donated 800,000 books in Pakistan, out of which 200,000 books were distributed solely in Balochistan.
The delegation presented a gift of 10,000 more books to the Prime Minister to be distributed in different parts of the country.
