UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has condemned the deadly violence in the disputed Abyei Administrative Area, in which two UN peacekeepers were killed.

Spokesman of the UN Chief Stephane Dujarric reminded all parties that attacks on UN peacekeepers may constitute war crimes. He said Guterres has conveyed deepest condolences to the families of the deceased peacekeepers from Ghana and Pakistan, civilians in the Abyei and to the governments and people of Ghana and Pakistan.
