Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says all available resources will be used to eliminate polio in the country.

Talking to Anti polio National team in Islamabad today, he directed to ensure the availability of polio vaccine in security risk areas.

The Prime Minister said Pakistan has made significant progress against polio virus due to the hard work of frontline workers, determination of government and cooperation of partners.

He expressed concerns that Pakistan was included in the list of two countries where polio virus exists.

The Prime Minister was informed nine polio cases have been reported in the country this year.

He was informed a countrywide polio campaign will be started in September, October and December this year.

He was apprised about the two, four and six months plan for the eradication of polio virus.

The Prime Minister was also informed that the data of children who missed polio vaccination has been digitized in order to ensure their vaccination with the help of digital tracking.
