The Federal Government has declared public holidays on the 9th and 10th of Muharram in observance of Ashura. According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division, the holidays will fall on the 5th and 6th of July, which coincide with Saturday and Sunday.
As per the notification, all government offices will remain closed on these dates.
In a related move, the federal government has also ensured comprehensive security measures for Muharram. The Pakistan Army and Civil Armed Forces have been deployed across the country to maintain peace and security during the holy month. These proactive steps aim to safeguard the public and ensure a safe and secure environment for all citizens observing the religious occasion.
