The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center launched the 3rd Cycle of its Food Security Support Project in Pakistan for the current year.

The launch ceremony was held in Islamabad on Friday, which was attended by Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, Country Director King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center Pakistan Abdullah Al-Baqami, and other concerned authorities.

Under the project King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief will distribute 30,000 food packages across 34 most vulnerable districts of Pakistan, benefitting over two hundred ten thousand individuals.

This initiative follows the successful completion of the first two cycles, during which 60,000 food packages were distributed in 61 districts of Balochistan, Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The project is being implemented with the collaboration of National Disaster Management Authority, Provincial Disaster Management Authorities, and other local partners.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain said the programme to distribute humanitarian aid is a testament of the strongly brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

He also lauded the leadership of Saudi Arabia, particularly, King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for extending support to Pakistan during testing times.

In his remarks, Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki said his country would continue to extend cooperation to Pakistan in diverse fields.
