
The seventy-seventh martyrdom anniversary of the first recipient of Nishan-e-Haider, Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed, was observed today [Sunday].
Quran Khawani and prayers are being arranged in the mosques on the martyrdom anniversary of Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed.
Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed laid down his life on 27 July 1948 during the First Kashmir War at Tilpatra, Azad Kashmir.
His supreme sacrifice remains an enduring symbol of valour and patriotism.
The Armed Forces of Pakistan and the entire nation honour his timeless legacy and salute his unparalleled heroism, which continues to inspire generations of officers and soldiers. The hero of Pakistan Army, Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed, is the first Mujahid to receive highest military award of Pakistan, Nishan-e-Haider.
The valleys of Kashmir are still witness to how Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed fought till the last drop of his blood.
On this day, Captain Muhammad Sarwar and his company attacked a strong defence position of India on the Talpatra Hill.
The advance was halted by barbed wire just twenty meters from the enemy. Despite being shot in the right shoulder, Captain Muhammad Sarwar, along with six companions, proceeded forward and decided to cut the wire himself. During the heavy enemy shelling, Captain Muhammad Sarwar not only succeeded in cutting the wire but also caused heavy damage to the enemy with hand grenades. During this operation, he was hit by bullets of enemy machine gun and embraced martyrdom. As a result of valor action of Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed, it was possible to achieve the target.
On this occasion, the religious scholars said that Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed was a brave son of soil who will always live in every heart.
They further said that sacrifices of the martyrs teach us a lesson of unity and the blood of martyr never goes in vain.
Religious scholars termed breathing in the free air as a gift from the sacrifices of martyrs.
They said that nations who do not honor their martyrs become humiliated and disgraced.
