Pakistan has sent a fresh consignment of humanitarian aid to Gaza, underscoring its continued solidarity with the Palestinian people. The latest shipment, facilitated by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in collaboration with partner organizations, comprises more than 1,800 tonnes of daily-use commodities.
The send-off ceremony, held at Islamabad International Airport on Thursday, was attended by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said two aircraft, each carrying 100 tonnes of relief goods including food, dry rations, and medicines, were departing for Jordan. From there, the supplies will be transported to Gaza via land routes.
Mr. Tarar noted that the consignment marked Pakistan’s 18th aid dispatch to the war-torn enclave on the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He commended the Al-Khidmat Foundation and the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami for their contributions toward the relief effort.
Reiterating Pakistan’s stance on the Palestinian cause, the minister reaffirmed the country’s support for the establishment of a sovereign, independent, and viable Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. He expressed grave concern over the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza, particularly the suffering of children facing starvation and malnutrition, and pledged to continue raising the issue at all international forums.
