
Punjab Government has decided to introduce new laws regarding drone policing, coordinated security and arms regulation.
The decision was taken during the fourth extraordinary meeting on law and order, chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in Lahore today.
The meeting decided to bring fresh scrutiny of the current one million licensed arms in the province.
Punjab Surrender of Illegal Arms Act 2025 will be introduced which will be enforced in three phases. It will focus on surrender and destroying the illegal arms and enforcement of arms related laws.
Under the Act, illegal arms will be surrendered within fifteen days and all licensed arms will be thoroughly scrutinized.
