The spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Esmaeil Baghaei says important negotiations were held under the mediation of Pakistan during which messages and texts were exchanged several times between the parties.
In a statement, he said no agreement should be expected to be reached in a single meeting.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson said important topics were discussed between the parties and issues relating to the reduction of tensions in Iran and the region were discussed. He said Iran is using all its capabilities to protect its national interests.
Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei appreciated Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar for hosting the talks.
He said close contacts and consultations between Iran and Pakistan will continue. There is full confidence in the continuation of contacts with regional friends and Pakistan.
