
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has extended a warm welcome to Sikh pilgrims arriving to participate in the Vaisakhi Festival and felicitated the Sikh community on the joyous occasion.
In her message, she said the Vaisakhi Festival reflects vibrant colors of happiness, which truly represents the spirit and beauty of Punjab.
The Chief Minister said it is an honor for the people of Punjab to host their Sikh brethren on their sacred land.
Meanwhile, over two thousand two hundred Indian Sikh pilgrims reached Gurdwara Janmashthan in Nankana Sahib from Lahore.
They were brought in special buses under strict security.
On the other hand, Punjab Minister for Minorities Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora has announced to restore more than fifty Gurdwaras across Punjab.
He was addressing a ceremony after laying the foundation stone for the restoration and beautification of Gurdwara Sri Kyara Sahib in Nankana Sahib on the second day of the nine-day festival.
He said a state-of-the-art 40-room residential complex would be constructed at the gurdwara to provide modern accommodation facilities for visiting pilgrims.
He said elaborate arrangements for food, lodging, security, and healthcare has been ensured for thousands of local and international pilgrims participating in Vesakhi festival.
The visiting pilgrims expressed satisfaction over the arrangements and thanked the Punjab government, for facilitating their visit, describing Pakistan as a haven of peace and interfaith harmony.
