Anwar Goindi was a gateway to Urdu literature and can rightly be described as a valuable asset of the literary world. These views were expressed by Rashid Deshmukh, a prominent member of the Muslim community residing in India, during an exclusive conversation with renowned writer Manza Anwar Goindi.
He said that Anwar Goindi was the driving force behind literature and a multifaceted personality who played a significant role in strengthening the foundations of literary activity. He was simultaneously a writer in several genres of literature, a champion of humanity, and the Secretary General of Anjuman Taraqqi-e-Urdu.
“Neither the rugged paths of life nor the storms of adversity could deter him from his mission,” Rashid Deshmukh said. He described Anwar Goindi as a noble, dignified and broad-minded person who paved new paths in literature and kept the lamp of knowledge and learning burning. His broad vision, generosity and high moral character nurtured literature even in barren circumstances, which is why his name continues to shine as a symbol of enlightenment in literary history.
He added that Anwar Goindi’s literary services and welfare activities would keep his name alive for generations. Through his practical life, he proved that positive thinking and constructive action are essential alongside literary expression.
Rashid Deshmukh further said that Anwar Goindi possessed a Sufi temperament and was a humble and courteous human being. His pleasant personality was an integral part of his character, while he also possessed the rare ability to win people’s hearts.
Speaking about Manza Goindi, he said that she had proved herself to be the true heir to her father’s literary legacy and was herself an accomplished writer. “If we look at the contemporary literary landscape, it would not be an exaggeration to say that Anwar Goindi was a university of literature, while Manza Goindi is its rightful custodian,” he remarked.
He concluded by saying that Anwar Goindi was indeed fortunate to have been blessed with a daughter like Manza Goindi, who is carrying his valuable literary legacy forward with dedication and distinction.
