Pakistan and Kazakhstan have decided to establish strategic partnership for the mutual benefit of the two countries with enhanced focus on key areas.
This was stated in a joint declaration signed in Islamabad today on the conclusion of the two-day state visit of Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Pakistan.
The key areas of cooperation include; political dialogue, security and defence, trade, economy and investment, transport and logistics, education, science and information technology, culture, media, sports and tourism, climate change and environmental coordination, and cooperation at the regional and international level.
During their interaction, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev welcomed the growing understanding and partnership between the two countries in various fields.
They reaffirmed that further strengthening cooperation between the two countries, in accordance with the UN Charter and universally accepted principles and norms of international law, will not only consolidate and expand their bilateral partnership, but would also positively contribute to the peace, security, connectivity, and stability of the entire region of Central and South Asia and beyond.
The Kazakhstan President expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and to the people of Pakistan for the warm hospitality.
He also extended an invitation to Shehbaz Sharif to visit Kazakhstan at a convenient time, who graciously accepted the invitation.
