Pakistan and China have reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen their strategic partnership.
This came at a meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and China’s Vice Minister of Public Security and Head of the Special Service Bureau Ling Zhifeng at the UN Headquarters.
They also reiterated commitment to strengthening cooperation in counter-terrorism.
They agreed to expand collaboration on internal security matters and emphasized the need to strengthen mutual cooperation in border management, combating illegal immigration and counter-narcotics efforts.
Mohsin Naqvi stressed that terrorist financing must be curbed at every level. He stressed for working together against countries involved in sponsoring and financing terrorism.
The Interior Minister said Pakistan is keen to further deepen its security cooperation with China.
Mohsin Naqvi said Pakistan has established a Special Protection Police Force to ensure the security of Chinese nationals working in the country.
The Interior Minister said people-to-people contacts are vital for promoting bilateral relations and emphasized the need to facilitate the visa regime in this regard.
The Chinese Vice Minister of Public Security acknowledged Pakistan’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. He said both countries should work together to combat terrorism.
