Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Kolokoltsev at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

During the meeting, the two ministers reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Pakistan-Russia relations and discussed the prevailing regional situation as well as ways to enhance bilateral cooperation.

The two sides exchanged views on cooperation in counter-narcotics, counter-terrorism, cybercrime, and conducting joint police exercises.

They also discussed evolving a joint strategy to counter terrorist networks operating in the region, particularly in Afghanistan.

The two ministers agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding to further expand bilateral cooperation.

Mohsin Naqvi invited his Russian counterpart to visit Pakistan.

The meeting also reviewed progress on the decisions taken during their previous meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohsin Naqvi said over twenty-five terrorist organizations are active in Afghanistan. He stressed that eliminating these extremist groups is a shared responsibility and emphasized the need for collective efforts to eradicate the menace of terrorism.
