
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has said Pakistan’s nuclear capability is for deterrence and for the country’s own security as well as stability in the region.
Taking the floor, he said AI generated video clips are being used on social media to spread false and misleading propaganda.
He said a news report, quoting an Iranian General, is taking rounds on the social media that Pakistan will attack Israel if the latter uses nukes against Iran. He termed such news as fake and misleading.
He stressed the need to remain watchful of fake news and misinformation. He further clarified that Pakistan has never issued any such statement.
Ishaq Dar informed the House that so far 251 Pakistani students have been evacuated from Iran, while we are handling over 500 zaireen.
He further updated that Islamabad has also given a positive response to Tehran’s request for bringing back around 20,000 Iranian pilgrims from Saudi Arabia. He said these pilgrims will be facilitated with a visa on arrival at the Karachi airport. He, however, said Saudi Arabia has also offered them to remain in the Kingdom as guests until the current crisis is over.
Responding to a point, the armed forces of Pakistan are fully aware and capable of responding to any misadventure as they did in the past.
The House continued discussion on the budget for the next fiscal year.
Participating in the debate, Ali Zafar called for political stability to help strengthen the country’s economy. He emphasized the need to create more job opportunities for the youth.
Khalil Tahir Sandhu stated that the government had provided maximum possible relief to the public in the budget. He noted that various sectors had witnessed positive growth.
Syed Masroor Ahsan called for prioritizing the water sector. He said maximum funds to be released for the early completion of Karachi’s K-IV water project.
Muhammad Faisal Vawda proposed that steps should be taken for the welfare of the farmers. He emphasized the need to boost the country’s exports.
Dost Muhammad Khan proposed to enhance the budget for the merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
