
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed authorities concerned to ensure the complete elimination of encroachments in the Federal Capital and stressed that no leniency should be shown in this regard.
Chairing a meeting at Capital Development Authority in Islamabad on Saturday, he instructed that an operation against illegal occupants should be conducted to clear the affected sectors by end of next month. The Minister assigned specific tasks to SSP Operations, ADCG, and the Director of DMA in this regard.
The meeting focused on reviewing both ongoing and new development projects to facilitate the public in the capital.
It was decided that the foundation stones for a flyover at T-Chowk and an underpass at Shaheen Chowk would be laid in the beginning of September.
Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that housing societies must strictly comply with regulations or face legal action. He instructed the commencement of Phase One of the Diplomatic Enclave Upgradation Project, which will include work on the main entrance from Constitution Avenue, the adjoining road, boundary wall, cycling track, and a park.
The meeting also reviewed various models to make the Gandhara Heritage and Citizen Centre operational and discussed the remodeling of Daman-e-Koh to enhance public facilities.
Progress on the under-construction sectors C-14, C-15, and C-16 was also reviewed, and the Interior Minister directed the early completion of work in the long-delayed sectors E-12 and I-12 to hand over possession to allottees.
Additionally, he instructed the presentation of a comprehensive development plan for new sectors C-13, D-13, E-13, and F-13.
The Interior Minister further directed that the preliminary work for the construction of two five-star hotels in Islamabad be completed by the end of this year.
During the briefing, it was informed that work on the first phase of the model jail in Islamabad is in progress and nearing completion, while land has also been allocated for the establishment of the Capital House.
The meeting was attended by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, CDA members, ADCG, SSP Operations, and other senior officials.
