Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Musadik Malik has called for urgent, coordinated and measurable action to tackle the issue of Pakistan’s worsening air pollution.

Addressing a workshop in Islamabad today, he said clean air must be treated as a basic requirement for human health and dignity.

Terming air quality a primary indicator of human survival and dignity, the Minister said Pakistan must move beyond policy commitments and translate its National Clean Air Policy into a time-bound and actionable implementation plan.

Musadik Malik said the government is also considering a National Clean Air Secretariat within the ministry to strengthen coordination and implementation.
