The Pakistan women’s cricket team on Sunday suffered a humiliating 107-run defeat against arch-rivals India in the fourth match of the ongoing Women’s World Cup 2022 at the Bay Oval.

Earlier, Pooja Vatraskar’s brilliant display of batting helped the Indian women’s cricket team to set a 245-run target for Pakistan.

As per the details, Indian skipper Mithali Raj won the toss and opted to bat first. Her side managed to post 244 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 50 overs.

After a slow start, left-handed opener Smitri Mandhana took charger as she hit a half-century before she was dismissed by Anam Amin.

India’s middle-order couldn’t deliver with the bat and bowler Pooja took matters in her hands, scoring a blistering 67 runs off 59 deliveries. While all-rounder Sneh Rana made 53 runs and put India in the driving seat.

While chasing a target of 245 runs, the Pakistan team collapsed to 137 all out. None of the Pakistan team players could deliver good performance against the arch-rivals in the match.

Opener Sidra Ameen remained the top scorer of the Pakistan side. She scored 30 runs off 64 balls with three fours.

Diana Baig added 24 runs to the team’s total score, while Bismah Maroof scored 15 runs and Fatima Sana went back to the pavilion after scoring just 17 runs off 35 balls.

India’s Rajeshwari Gayakwad wrecked havoc on the Pakistan team as she took four wickets for 31 runs in the match. Jhulan Goswami took two wickets while Meghna Singh and Deepti Sharma bagged one wicket each.
