Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has launched Prime Minister’s Initiative for Women Empowerment under which various steps involving a cost of 10.4 billion rupees will be taken.

Addressing the  ceremony, Prime Minister has stressed upon provision of equal opportunities to the womenfolk.

He said the country’s womenfolk are an effective and energetic segment of society, playing effective roles in families and society.

Lauding different prominent women personalities of the country, he said that they had served as great ambassadors of Pakistan in different capacities.

The ceremony was attended by a large number of women belonging to all walks of life, besides, ministers, parliamentarians, representatives of women organizations and relevant authorities.

It is pertinent to mention that ‘Prime Minister’s Initiative for Women Empowerment” envisaged provision of respectable employment opportunities, interest free loans, digital skills, professional and technical training as well as guidance for small startups in rural areas.

Besides, making widows of martyrs finically empowered, establishment of daycare centers for professional women, and Child Protection Institute for Girls in Islamabad are also part of the initiative.

Furthermore, projects like restoration and revival of family protection and rehabilitation centres, imparting training and necessary skills to women in jails, training of ladies in the corporate sector and women on wheels are also part of this programme.
