Pakistan People’s Party says decision about caretaker Prime Minister will be taken in consultation with all coalition parties in accordance with the procedure laid down in the Constitution.

This was stated by Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman and Minister of State for Poverty Alleviation Faisal Karim Kundi while addressing a news conference in Islamabad this afternoon.                             

Sherry Rehman said no name has been finalized or even considered so far for the office of the caretaker Prime Minister. She urged media to avoid speculations on the matter. She said Pakistan People’s Party has principled stance that elections be held in time.

Sherry Rehman said the government is currently faced with the daunting challenge of rehabilitating the flood affected people and all available resources are being utilized to restore life in the flood-hit areas.

Speaking on the occasion, Faisal Karim Kundi said five thousand women have been given ownership rights of their houses in Sindh so far while we have set a target of two hundred thousand.

He said a dynamic survey under Benazir Income Support Program is also underway to register beneficiaries for the program.
