Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billstrom telephoned his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan, assuring that his country seeks to stop all offensive acts towards all faiths and religious texts.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, Billström expressed Sweden’s condemnation and denunciation of burnings of the Holy Quran.
During the conversation, the Saudi Foreign Minister demanded Sweden to take immediate measures against such extremist actions that hurt the sentiments of Muslims around the world.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia summoned Denmark’s charge d’affaires and handed her an objection memo against burning of Holy Quran.
